Mix Design

The amount of water, additive and sand are always based on a 100 gallon concentrate sealer measurement. All applications should have a minimum of 2 coats. A third coat is optional but recommended for high traffic areas.

The above calculations are determined with the standard mix design listed below.

  • 1st Application:
  • 100 gal. Concentrate Sealer
  • 30 gal. Water
  • 3 gal. Additive
  • 300 lbs. Sand
  • .12 Application Rate
  • 2nd Application:
  • 100 gal. Concentrate Sealer
  • 30 gal. Water
  • 3 gal. Additive
  • 300 lbs. Sand
  • .10 Application Rate

*Above recommendations are based on a federal spec coaltar sealer with a minimum of 48% solids.

**Due to seasonal evaporation variability, PPP recommends 25 gallons of water in the winter or cooler months and 35 gallons of water in the summer or warmer months for every 100 gallons of federal spec sealer.
